Day 11: Fri Sep 16

If I tell you that the week’s work-related activities overstimulated me, I would not be exaggerating. I was simultaneously energized and exhausted by the experience and tightly-packed schedule.

Friday morning, I packed my things and left my comfy hotel. Took a straight shot to Colorado Springs.

At Colorado Springs, I stayed the weekend at a youth hostel. Hostels are my preference, generally speaking (so long as they are not “party” hostels, that is). Hostels typically have multiple shared kitchen and kitchenware. This encourages community.

In the case of the ColoRADo Adeventures Hostel where I stayed, not only was this true, but the owner and manager encouraged community by running a clean and friendly hostel with plenty of comfortable shared spaces. She also organized group activities, such as the Friday night bonfire, and a home-cooked weekend breakfast on the house.

I arrived in time to locate and book a 30-minute massage. Guys, lemme tell ya. I lucked out. Two of the two new-to-me massage therapists I was lucky enough to find were STUPENDOUS. Brian, who works out of Massage Green Spa, located at a huge shopping center near me, had an 8:30 pm slot open this evening. The massage experience was wonderful and has given me strength and stability.

I took advantage of the location and shopped around for a fresh dinner idea (steak & onions, and a plate of cut fruit).
